I am not sure, whether reading a daily (newspaper) is a good habit or a bad one!
When you watch what is happening in the parliament and all the statements made by the politicians, ministers and the like, it becomes very clear that their intentions is to attain power and to retain them. There was a game that we use to play when we are young, in the construction sites, you can see sand being left like a heap, we play on them, one of the game that we play there is, a person will try to reach the top and the other will reach the top and push the others down, it will be interesting as only few could survive in the top for few minutes, many a times, you need the help of somebody to reach the top, then with him, you push others, then, you push each other too.
That game was fun, and the purpose was only to reach the top and nothing else, infact it will be boring if the rest accepts to leave you on top and do not challenge!!
This is okay as a game when you are kids, but, in real life if you see this game being played by politicians, and corporate heads either to attain a powerful post or to retain the same. The problem in real life is, it is not just to reach there, what do you do after reaching there matters most. We expect these people in the position of power to use the power for making the life of themselves and others meaningful.
They are not 'at work', they are 'about work'.
Most of the discussions at top level happens in 'about' people are bothered like, who will do it, who will take the credit, in whose name, who will listen to whom in so doing and so on, not bothering too much about, how to add value to the actual work.
